Ms. Louise Paris
Louise Paris (BA [Sociology, minor in science and technology], Université du Québec à Montréal, 1992; MA [Sociology], Université du Québec à Montréal, 1999) started her career doing social research and teaching sociology, and later joined the Canadian International Development Agency in 1998, occupying several positions as gender specialist, development officer, analyst and program manager. She focused on Africa, working on the Rwanda, Guinea (where she was posted for two years), Zambia, Zimbabwe and Tanzania programs.
More recently, she joined the Indigenous Services Canada department and led a national program supporting assisted living services in Canada’s First Nations reserves and communities from 2018-2021. She returned to international development work at Global Affairs Canada in July 2021 to be posted in Ghana last August, as Conseller and Deputy Director of Operations for the development program in the country.
