Chikodi is a seasoned business development, strategic management, customer service, project and programme management and marketing professional with over 21 years progressive experience across sectors; with practitioner experience in higher education and research, schools education and teacher development, marketing strategy, digital marketing and innovation, project design and development, the creative industries, entrepreneurship/ enterprise development and TVET.
Chikodi started his career in 1997 as a mathematics teacher at Federal Government College Maiduguri, in the North Eastern part of Nigeria. He transitioned to the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology in 2007 where he was responsible for translating research results from Nigeria’s Higher Education and Research Institutions into commercially viable products and services, using the Technology Business Incubation programme. In 2007, he joined the British Council as the New Business Development Manager, Partnerships Manager and subsequently the Senior Stakeholder Manager and was responsible for outward facing business development and relationship building activities for the British Council in Nigeria. He joined the British Council Ghana in September of 2018 as the Director Programmes and Partnerships. He also deputises the Country Director.
Chikodi led the recent research to understudy the Higher Education and Transnational Education landscape in Ghana which was implemented by the University of Cape Coast. He is collaborating with the government of Ghana in several other strategic areas including the Central Admission System, Impact Investment for the social enterprise sector, enterprise development for potential and returnee migrations in three regions of Ghana and others.
His research interests include, digital marketing, strategic marketing, technology business incubation policies, entrepreneurship proxies, corporate governance proxies and project management practices. He is married with four children.
